To that end, a higher SAMHD1 expression is significantly associated with an unfavorable survival outcome in patients with colonic adenocarcinoma (Hazard ratio [HR] = 2.15, P = 0.020), lung adenocarcinoma (HR = 3.34, P = 0.030), and glioblastoma (HR = 1.99, P = 0.034) and glioma (HR = 1.56, P = 0.026), suggesting that SAMHD1 may contribute to chemotherapy insensitivity in these cancers (Fig. 8A–D; Fig. S7A–D).
