FFAR4 and metabolic syndrome: Following on the findings that metabolic syndrome increased the 12-HETE/18-HEPE ratio in HDL from male Ffar4KO mice, we measured 18-HEPE and 12-HETE levels in both the esterified (membrane) and nonesterified (NEOx, free) fractions from male hearts to understand how the loss of Ffar4 in the context of HFpEF secondary to MetS affected Ffar4-cPLA2α activity in the male heart specifically.
