Aberrant STAT3 activation has been observed in a wide range of cancers such as lung cancer (Zhang et al. 2019), colorectal cancer (Heichler et al. 2020), breast cancer (Siersbaek et al. 2020), melanoma (Swoboda et al. 2021), ovarian cancer (Geethadevi et al. 2021), prostate cancer (Culig 2017), hepatocellular carcinoma (He and Karin 2011), pancreas cancer (Fukuda et al. 2011), leukemia (Arora et al. 2018) and multiple myeloma (Zheng et al. 2021), and plays a central role in immune regulation (Zou et al. 2020). This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and cancer.
