Costa‐Silva and coworkers showed that EVs released by pancreatic cancer cells enriched in migration inhibitory factor (MIF) induce Kupffer cells to secrete transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβ1), which elicits the profibrotic activity of hepatic stellate cells supporting the recruitment of bone marrow-derived macrophages and finally priming the liver for pancreatic cancer metastasis [11]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and pancreatic neoplasm.
