NPPB and bronchopulmonary dysplasia: In preterm neonates, increased NT-proBNP and BNP values have been associated with the following diseases of prematurity: hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus (hsPDA) [6, 7], pulmonary hypertension (PH) [8], bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) [9], retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) [10, 11], inflammation or sepsis [12, 13]and congenital heart diseases [14].
