Consistent with other studies, right-sided CRC in our population harbored more frequently deficient MMR status and KRAS and BRAF mutations compared to left-sided tumors, while NRAS mutations were more frequent in left-sided CRC.25,35-40 Even though BRAF mutations are known to be associated with poor outcomes and are more frequent in right-sided CRC, our results indicate that right-sided CRC is still associated with significantly poorer survival regardless of BRAF mutational status. The gene discussed is NRAS; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
