Cells at the invasive front of colorectal and ovarian tumors have more IQGAP1 staining, especially at sites of intercellular contacts, than central tumor and normal cells, indicating that IQGAP1-mediated AJ disruption may drive tumor invasion (Nabeshima et al., 2002; Dong et al., 2006).
