Activating somatic mutations in the BRAF gene are detected in 6–8% of cases of solid tumors [1, 2], including melanoma (in 44% of tumors), thyroid cancer (1.7–90.0%, depending on the tumor histological type), colorectal adenocarcinoma (10%), and lung adenocarcinoma (1.5–8.0%) [1, 3, 4]. The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is thyroid gland carcinoma.
