Cellular repressor of E1A-stimulated genes (CREG) and glutathione S-transferase Mu 2 (GSTM2) inhibits the phosphorylation of ASK1 to block its subsequent downstream signaling, thereby improving insulin resistance and hepatic steatosis (Zhang et al., 2017; Lan et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene CREG1 and fatty liver disease.
