In the study conducted in Serbian patients (223 cases and 336 controls) in 2021, NRF2 rs6721961 alone exerted no influence on the risk of clear cell renal cell carcinoma development, but the NRF2 rs6721961 A allele plus the SOD2 rs4880 T allele showed three-times increased risk of this disease occurrence [12]. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and clear cell renal carcinoma.
