Interestingly, a subset of cytokines (i.e., the platelet-derived growth factor-BB [PDGF-BB], the chemokine CCL5 [also known as regulated upon activation, normal T cell expressed, and secreted or RANTES], and the macrophage migration inhibitory factor [MIF]), showed a significant reduction in abundance in the CAM patients, compared to the control COVID-19 patients (Fig. 1C). The gene discussed is MIF; the disease is COVID-19.
