CAT and acute liver failure: The hepatoprotective effect of α-MG (12.5, 25 mg/kg/day, 7 days, i.g.)on LPS/D-galactosamine-induced acute liver failure was studied and the findings revealed that α-MG protects the liver against the pathogenic effects of LPS/D-galactosamine by reducing hepatic MDA levels, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 levels, and recovering hepatic glutathione (GSH), SOD, and catalase (CAT) activities.
