CD34 interacts with selectin (Lo et al., 2017) and integrin (Ohnishi et al., 2013) and exerts a synergistic effect with inflammatory cytokines, chemokines (Kitajima et al., 1999; Maltby et al., 2010) and other immune substances, thus participating to intestinal inflammation and promoting the progression of IBD (Milia et al., 2013; Ohnishi et al., 2013).
