CAT and Hyperglycemia: Oral administration of this phenolic-rich fraction counteracted the hyperglycemia-induced oxidative stress in the rat liver by reducing hepatic lipid peroxidation, protein carbonylation and nitration, iNOS expression, and the overexpression and activity of some antioxidant enzymes (GPx, SOD, and CAT), besides increasing hepatic total antioxidant activity, GSH content, and GR activity and expression.
