IL10 and neoplasm: We found that CeCa-MSCs, compared to NCx-MSCs, decrease the expression of HLA class I molecules in tumor cells through the secretion of interleukin-10 (IL-10), which causes cytotoxic T lymphocytes to fail to recognize neoplastic cells, thus suggesting that tumor-derived MSCs provide immune protection to tumor cells by inducing the downregulation of HLA class I molecules [9].
