As shown in Table 2, RT-qPCR analyses revealed a notable positive correlation between CAV1 gene expression levels and those of several C-C motif chemokines, such as CCL2 and CCL8 and their receptors CCR1 and CCR2 (0.491 ≤ r ≤ 0.618; p < 0.035; Table 2), which are known to be expressed in AT-residential macrophages and lymphocytes and are implicated in obesity-induced low-grade chronic inflammation [38]. This evidence concerns the gene CCR2 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
