Activation of DAPK1 results in Aβ pathology characteristic of AD through the amyloidogenic processing of APP, hyperphosphorylation and dysregulation of tau, and cell death by multiple pathways in AD, while DAPK1 inhibition is able to attenuate AD-related pathologies [8,17,19,20,29,30,31]. This evidence concerns the gene DAPK1 and Alzheimer disease.
