In the model of LV remodeling after MI, a drug blockade of IL-6, through the administration of the anti-IL6R antibody, decreases neutrophil and macrophage infiltration in the infarct region, and the administration of anti-IL6R antibody after MI suppressed myocardial inflammation resulted in the amelioration of LV remodeling [41]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and myocardial infarction.
