The prevalence of diabetes (0.2%, 0.6%, and 1.6% in the first, second, and third tertile, respectively) and MetS (6%, 6.7%, and 11.8% in the first, second, and third tertile, respectively) increased with an increase in Lp-PLA2 levels in the younger women (p < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene PLA2G7 and metabolic syndrome.
