Wroblewska et al. analyzed the proteomic profile of the serum-derived exosomes from primary and metastatic uveal melanoma patients [332] and found that the proteins that were involved in tumor development/metastasis, such as IFN-γ, interleukins 2, 11, and 12, and Pentraxin-3, were significantly elevated in the metastatic uveal melanoma exosomes [332]. This evidence concerns the gene PTX3 and uveal melanoma.
