Clusters lost in the BaP-treated kidney include cluster 5 cells, which are high in the distal tubule-expressed GPI-anchored glycoprotein Umod and prostaglandin E receptor Ptger3 [65,66], cluster 9 cells that are positive for the insulin-like growth factor binding protein Igfbp5, which is known to affect diabetic kidney disease progression [67], and cluster 10 cells which express the proximal tubule carbonic anhydrase Car3 [68]. Here, UMOD is linked to diabetic kidney disease.
