Corroborating those findings, Wu and co-workers (2019) demonstrated in lung cancer cell lines (A549 and SPC-A-1) that the overexpression of the transcription factor regulator PAX-6 was correlated with enhanced expression of ZEB2 transcription factor, one of the master regulators of EMT, and also that the ZEB2 promoter region was a direct target for interaction with PAX-6. The gene discussed is ZEB2; the disease is lung cancer.
