During this COVID-19 pandemic, certain features associated with COVID-19 mortality have been identified, such as age over 60 years, male sex, comorbidities such as obesity, overweight, diabetes mellitus (DM), high blood pressure or hypertension (HBP), among others, as well as other biochemical parameters such as high levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), lactic dehydrogenase (DHL), and ferritin. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
