MTHFR and venous thromboembolism: The features of this case are the sudden onset of bilateral acute angle closure, along with the hemi retinal vein occlusion in a hypertensive patient with rheumatoid polyarthritis and with a history of multiple miscarriages, whose genetic tests revealed specific mutations (MTHFR A1298C and PAI-1 4G heterozygote) that increase not only the risk for developing venous thromboembolism, but also the risk of developing chronic glaucoma.
