On segregating patients based on the presence or absence of neutropenia, PCT, DNI, CRP, and SAA levels in the infected group were significantly elevated in both patients with neutropenia (p = 0.0004, 0.0017, and p < 0.0001, respectively) and those without neutropenia (p = 0.0061, p < 0.0001, and p < 0.0001, respectively) (Figure 1). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is neutropenia.
