Hydrogen peroxide was used to cause cell death in H9C2 cardiomyocytes in order to study the function and mechanism of ADAM17 in damaged myocardium, which has been utilized to simulate myocardial injury in myocardial infarction as it leads to apoptosis and necrosis of cardiomyocytes [37–39]. Here, ADAM17 is linked to myocardial infarction.
