IGHE and asthma: Asthma occurs due to genetic and environmental factors such as smoking, various allergens, and pollutants44 and is a chronic lung disease characterized by infiltration of eosinophils, enhanced production of Th2 cytokines, increased immunoglobulin E (IgE) production from B cells, increased blood vessels, increased bulk of airway smooth muscle, and excessive mucus production in airways45,46 through multiple pathways including MAPK and NF-κB46,47.
