In our present study, we observed that DSS-induced colitis (Fig. S2A, B, and E) was accompanied by enhanced colonic iron (Fig. S2C), malondialdehyde (MDA) levels (Fig. S2D), and COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) signals, and reduced GPX4 (glutathione peroxidase 4) levels (Fig. S2F to P) in the colon tissues. This evidence concerns the gene GPX4 and colitis.
