Based on the above findings, we hypothesized that downregulation of CYP1A2 expression results in abnormal PC accumulation in the sciatic nerve of diabetic rats, which ultimately leads to lipid droplets formation, and that the formation of these droplets disrupts the normal morphology of myelin and axons and impairs their function, ultimately resulting in the development of MA. Here, CYP1A2 is linked to microtia.
