Indeed, the endosome-lysosomal system appears to be a major pathway affected by aging and AD, with many changed proteins associated with lysosomes, notably involved in lysosomal quality control (LQC) altered in aging (e.g. CNN2, HspB1) and AD (e.g. DPP7, PLBD2, PLD3, TAGLN). Here, TAGLN is linked to Alzheimer disease.
