Clinical and experimental data suggest that SGLT-2 inhibitors have beneficial effects in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases such as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (133, 134), obesity (135–137), heart failure (138), and atherosclerosis; however, little is known about the effect of SGLT-2 inhibition on AAA. Here, SLC5A2 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
