A number of RAAS gene polymorphisms, including those in the aldosterone synthase (CYP11B2), angiotensinogen (AGT), angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R), and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) genes, have been found to be strongly linked to hypertension and ischemic stroke. This evidence concerns the gene CYP11B2 and hypertensive disorder.
