NFKB1 and diabetes mellitus: After an oral or intragastrical feeding for 8 or10 weeks in diabetic rats, lycopene prevented diabetes-induced renal lesions and improved renal function via attenuating oxidative stress by increasing the activities of endogenous antioxidants such as SOD and GPx and decreasing MDA and oxidized (ox)-LDL, and inhibiting NF-κB signal pathway.
