After excluding individuals flagged as potential COPD patients, only the group of β2AR agonists (HR=0.85; 95% CI: 0.76, 0.94; p=0.001) retained its association with lower PD risk, whereas neither corticosteroids (HR=1.07; 95% CI: 0.96, 1.19; p=0.252) nor anticholinergics (HR=1.09; 95% CI: 0.92, 1.28; p=0.306) remained associated with PD risk (Figure 1, Model 4). This evidence concerns the gene ADRB2 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
