In oxaliplatin-resistant human cervical cancer cell lines, a combination treatment of iron chelator desferal (DFO) and oxaliplatin can overcome oxaliplatin resistance (Chen et al., 2016); a combination of low-concentration of PTX and RSL3 synergistically inhibits tumor cell growth by inducing ferroptosis (Ye et al., 2019); both in vivo and in vitro experiments confirmed that a combination of gemcitabine and erastin can inhibit the HSPA5-GPX4 signaling pathway and displays a synergistic antitumor effect on pancreatic cancer cells. The gene discussed is GPX4; the disease is cervical cancer.
