L-selectin and Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1(ICAM-1)are critical TEM regulating genes, and animal asthma model lacking these cell adhesion molecules have decreased lung inflammation and lower airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) in response to ovalbumin challenge (111–113), and allergic asthma patients also have increased endothelial adhesion molecules in bronchial biopsies (114). This evidence concerns the gene ICAM1 and allergic asthma.
