Back in 2007, a novel gene, initially annotated as fetal liver-expressing gene 1 (hFLEG1) and later termed Holliday junction recognition protein (HJURP), was found to show a fold change expression greater than five in non-small cell lung cancer compared to normal tissue (Kato et al., 2007). This evidence concerns the gene HJURP and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
