Subsequent testing of shortlisted compounds (PD173074, cediranib, YM201636, nelarabine, tivozanib, ponatinib and dovitinib) in a panel of osteosarcoma (OS) cell lines and a pair of well-differentiated liposarcoma (LPS) cell lines validated two receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (RTKIs) (ponatinib, a pan-BCR-ABL inhibitor22 and PD173074, an inhibitor of FGF and VEGF receptors23) as compounds exhibiting enhanced killing of ALT cells (Fig. 1b and Supplementary Fig. 1a–d).
