Tauopathies, including Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Pick’s Disease and Corticobasal Degeneration, are a group of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the abnormal deposition of the microtubule-associated protein tau into filamentous neuronal inclusions. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
