NCAM1 and irritable bowel syndrome: In one genome-wide association study of 53,400 people with IBS, six genes (NCAM1, CADM2, PHF2/FAM120A, DOCK9, CKAP2/TPTE2P3 and BAG6) were found to be associated with IBS susceptibility including four genes linked to mood, anxiety, or expressed in the nervous system.
