NOTCH1 and squamous cell carcinoma: In the study by Song et al. (16), they found higher rates of NOTCH1 mutation (43%) in Chinese patients, while mutations for a Singaporean population with squamous cell carcinoma in the tongue were not common, concluding that inactivation of the NOTCH1 gene may play complex genetic interactions in OCSCC carcinogenesis (1,3,4,6,10).
