Among these five signature genes, HOOK1 and SPINK4 did not show significant changes in mRNA expression levels between normal and tumor tissues, whereas LGR5, HOXC6, and CKMT2 exhibited significantly increased expression in colon cancer tissues compared with that in normal tissues (Figures 9A–E), suggesting that these LGR5, HOXC6, and CKMT2 might be potential therapeutic targets for patients with colon cancer.
