Using the LPS-induced ALI model, BA might be a novel strategy for lung protection, mainly due to BA (200 mg/kg, orally administration) inhibited the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and malondialdehyde (MDA) and restored antioxidative enzyme activities, including superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT). Here, CAT is linked to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
