CSF2 and autoimmune disease: Is it important to highlight that GM-CSF production in T lymphocytes is driven by IL-23, which is secreted by antigen presenting cells (APCs) (32), binds to IL-23R and enables GM-CSF secretion by T cells (33–35), highlighting the importance of the iron/IL-17/IL-23/GM-CSF axis in the pathogenesis of autoimmune disorders.
