Dental organogenesis involves a series of complex epithelial-mesenchymal interactions,3 involving more than 200 genes4,5 and predominantly the TGF-β/BMP, Wnt/β-catenin, Eda/Edar/NF-κB, and SHH signaling pathways.6PAX9,AXIN2,EDA,LRP6,MSX1,WNT10A, andWNT10Bhave been identified as the most common genes responsible for non-syndromic tooth agenesis.EDAR,EDARADD,KRT17,NEMO, andKDF1are also associated with non-syndromic tooth agenesis.7,8. Here, SHH is linked to tooth agenesis.
