Based on our data, it seems that in patients with AF, factors such as age and cardiac comorbidities may be associated with more severe inflammation (higher procalcitonin and IL-6 levels in AF group in comparison to non-AF group) and more pronounced cardiac involvement (higher NT-pro-BNP and hs cTnI levels) in the AF group in comparison to group without AF. Here, TNNI3 is linked to atrial fibrillation.
