Liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP1-RA) already approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes has been recently introduced at the dosage of 3 mg for obese subjects with associated comorbidities such as hypertension, dyslipidemia and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (59–63). The gene discussed is GLP1R; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
