JAK2 and COVID-19: SARS-CoV-2 infects cells through endocytosis via the adaptor-associated protein kinase 1 (AAK1) pathways that utilizes the Janus kinase (JAK) 1 and 2 pathways. JAK1 and JAK2 pathways are also involved in pathways that result in COVID-19 hypercytokinemia; therefore, therapeutic agents that target these pathways may have a role in the treatment of COVID-19 [88].
