More recently, low-density lipoprotein receptor deficient (Ldlr−/−) mice fed a high fat diet (HFD), but who received chronic, 7-week, intraperitoneal administration of FL-654, were attenuated for atherosclerosis progression, and they displayed decreased markers of liver injury compared with vehicle control-injected mice [53], suggesting that these lipids may be beneficial. Here, VLDLR is linked to atherosclerosis.
