Significantly higher levels of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (p = 0.000), CRP (p = 0.000), HDL (p = 0.000), transferrin saturation (p = 0.000), Ag PLT ADP (p = 0.000), Ag PLT ASPI (p = 0.000), Ag PLT TRAP (p = 0.000), leukocyte (p = 0.000), platelet count (p = 0.000), IL-6 (p = 0.000) and TNF-α values (p = 0.000) were observed in patients with ulcerative colitis and atherosclerosis when compared to healthy controls. Here, TNF is linked to atherosclerosis.
